As of today, the submission of applications for the subsidy of the purchase or lease of electric vehicles by the residents and businesses of Astypalea begins as the announcement of the “e-Astypalea” program of the Ministry of Environment and Energy that will make Astypalea the first green and functionally smart island of the Mediterranean.
The announcement of the action for the promotion of e-mobility in Astypalea, which is signed by the Minister of Environment and Energy, Costas Skrekas, the Minister of Finance, Christos Staikouras, the Minister of Infrastructure and Transporation, Costas Karamanlis and the Deputy Minister of Finance, Thekodoros Skylakakis calls for the complete replacement of the fleet of conventional vehicles circulating on the island with electric ones. Withdrawal of old vehicles is optional with the exception of taxis for which it is mandatory while the total budget of the action amounts to 9 million euros.
The beneficiaries of the program can from today submit their applications through the electronic platform e-astypalea.gov.gr, using the taxis net codes, while a relevant help desk is already operating for the service of citizens. The submission of applications will last until December 31, 2023.
