Anxiety for the 69-year-old missing farmer is peaking in Mesochoria, South Evia.
He was in his car when he was swept away by the rushing waters of the river.
According to information from evima.gr, the door and parts of his car were found, between the area Tsakaioi and Mesochoria.
According to TVStar, the 69-year-old’s car was found in a damaged state.
The man called the Fire Department for help, seeing that he was being swept away by the rushing waters. An operation is currently underway to locate him, with 15 firefighters with five vehicles, while the commander of the Chalkida Fire Department, Periklis Koulkouvinis, is also at the scene.
Volunteers of the “Rescue Team of Evia – S.A.R 312” from Aliveri also is assisting in the operation of the authorities with two cars with special equipment.
