A top ministerial meeting on Monday ascertained that Greece’s non-durable goods market and its related supply chain are operating smoothly, even amid the ongoing energy crisis and the Russian invasion of Ukraine, government sources later conveyed.

The meeting was chaired by Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, as inflation has emerged as a top worry in the country – along with the rest of the Eurozone – on the back of soaring energy costs, and most recently, concerns over the interruption of food exports from Ukraine and Russia – mainly cereal grains, animal feeds and sunflower oil.

According to relevant rural development ministry officials, Greece does not face shortages or supply problems, including sunflower oil procurement.

The same sources said Ukraine is not one of Greece’s main suppliers of wheat.
