On the occasion of International Women’s Rights Day, the Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, responsible for Demographic Policy and Family Affairs, Maria Syregela, mentioned the policies of the Ministry of Labor for gender equality. As Ms. Syregela said, the Ministry of Labor places gender equality very high on the agenda. She also emphasized that our country is moving forward in the field of equality.
Maria Syregela’s full statement:
“This day symbolizes the ongoing struggles of women for equal rights and equal treatment. We are on the side of women not only on this day, but every day and all year round.
At the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs we have placed gender equality very high on our agenda. We design and implement policies that overturn stereotypes and inequalities. We do not stop at theoretical analyzes of equality but adopt concrete effective measures that focus on preventing and combating gender and domestic violence, reconciling personal and professional life, as well as integrating the gender dimension into all public policies.
Greece is moving forward in the field of equality, making steady progress. However, we do not stop here, but continue our struggle until we offer women and girls the position they deserve and deserve.”
