
A large increase was noted in the turnover in both accommodation and catering during the first quarter of 2022, a sign of the good course of tourism, through data published by the Hellenic Statistical Authority-ELSTAT.
Specifically,
For the total of enterprises in Accommodation Activities (division 55 of NACE Rev.2 classification), the turnover in the first quarter 2023 amounted to 375,267,348 euro, recording an increase of 28.6% in comparison with the first quarter 2022, when the respective turnover was 291,894,609 euros. For the enterprises of the Regional Units with a contribution to the total turnover of
the year 2022 greater than 1.0%, the biggest increase in the turnover of the first quarter 2023 compared to the first quarter of 2022 was recorded in the Regional Unit Thessaloniki (70.9%) and the smallest increase (6.9%) was recorded in the Kos Regional Unit.

For the total of enterprises in Food and Beverage Service Activities (division 56 of NACE Rev.2 classification), the turnover in the first quarter 2023 amounted to 1,525,622,347 euro, recording an increase of 27.0% in comparison with the first quarter 2022, when the respective turnover was 1,201,667,877 euros. For the enterprises of the Regional Units with a contribution to the total
turnover of the year 2022 greater than 1.0% , the biggest increase in the turnover of the first quarter 2023 compared to the first quarter of 2022 was recorded in the Regional Unit Thira (42.4%) and the smallest increase (12.5%) was recorded in the Regional Unit Mykonos.
For the enterprises in Accommodation Activities (division 55 of NACE Rev.2 classification), obliged to double-entry bookkeeping, for which data are available on a monthlybasis, the turnover in March 2023 amounted to 129,556,710 euro, recording an increase of 36.1% in comparison with March 2022, when the respective turnover was 95,200,970 euros.
For the enterprises in Food and Beverage Service Activities (division 56 of NACE Rev.2 classification), obliged to double-entry bookkeeping, for which data are available on a monthly basis, the turnover in March 2023 amounted to 162,257,336 euros, recording an increase of 23.6% in comparison with March 2022, when the respective turnover was 131,246,388 euros.
In total, for the enterprises in Accommodation and Food and Beverage Service Activities (divisions 55 and 56 of NACE Rev. 2 classification), obliged to double-entry bookkeeping, for which data are available on a monthly basis, the turnover in March 2023 amounted to 291,814,046 euro, recording an increase of 28.9% in comparison with March 2022, when the respective turnover
was 226,447,358 euros. For the Regional Units with a contribution to the total turnover of the year 2022 greater than 1.0%, the biggest increase in the turnover of March 2023 compared with March 2022 was recorded in the Regional Unit Messinia (49.1%) and the smallest increase (2.3%) was recorded in the Kos Regional Unit.
