Rhodes was chosen by the American production company Warner Bros. for the shooting, not of one but of four television producers. They are all about the popular “Bachelor” game and are intended for television in Denmark, Sweden and Finland, providing 100 hours of Rhodes coverage in the Scandinavian markets, during prime time, through the major television stations.
The first production was “Bachelor” of Denmark, which was shot last September in Rhodes and started airing on TV2 in Denmark in June for 20 hours.
This was followed by the Swedish “Bachelor”, which was filmed in April and started airing on Sweden’s popular TV4 for 40 hours on September 6.
In two months from today, in November, the third production, “Bachelorette”, with a 20-hour program, will also start airing on Swedish television.
Finally, the shooting of the Finnish “Bachelor”, which will be shown on the popular MTV in Finland, is expected to start next week on the island of Rhodes, at a time that has not been officially announced.
The above productions mean that during the most expensive TV time on a TV show, Rhodes will be broadcast extensively in Sweden, Denmark, and Finland, foreshadowing a positive impact on the destination, in terms of 2022 bookings. In fact, the Danish market, where the Bachelor with images of Rhodes started to be shown from June 2021, marked an increase in traffic to the island, which welcomed more Danes for July and August, than those it had welcomed the respective period, not 2020, but In particular, in July 2021 20,829 Danes visited Rhodes compared to 20,115 in July 2019, while the largest increase is for August 2021, when Rhodes had 15,674 Danes from 13,303 last year record in tourism.
It is also worth noting that, in the media market, the destination usually pays very high sums, hundreds of thousands of euros, in order to be chosen as the shooting location for such a popular production, which did not happen in the case of Rhodes. The good testimony of the first production led to the next and from that to the next and so on.
The value of the projection of the island for 100 hours, in the mentioned television stations, and specifically Monday to Thursday, in the peak zone, is valued in the Media market in millions of euros.
Finally, it is noted that the Swedish production was sponsored by the company Apollo / DER Touristic.
