A latest survey on consumer goods in Greece shows that mobile phones are, by far, the most frequent purchases of electronics, with the figure in the country exceeding the average of 18 other countries, and fifth in terms of the specific item.
The survey, by Focus Bari, conducted through the YouGov platform, shows that 44 percent of respondents purchased a mobile phone over the past year. Television purchases were cited by 22 percent of respondents, followed by PCs/laptops, at 17 percent.
As with other consumers worldwide, the main criteria for shoppers in Greece is price and the cell phone’s characteristics, with design also taken into account by younger buyers.
Conversely, the same survey found that “eco-friendly” devices played a small role in attracting buyers, as one view is that the latter are more expensive.
