A raid on a cafe located near the Panathinaikos stadium was carried out by unknown persons at noon on Thursday, showing that the cycle of fan violence will hardly come to an end.
In particular, at 12:00 a group of people with no visible markings attacked a shop located at the junction of Tsocha and Kyriakou streets, behind the “greens'” pitch on Alexandras Avenue and near Hellenic Police HQ.
According to information, the attackers broke the window of a store before fleeing. Police officers who were at the scene made 11 arrests, while police investigations continue to identify and arrest others involved.
Ties with the Nea Philadelphia case
The owner of the store that was the target of the attack by the strangers has been arrested as part of the investigations into the case of the attack by hooligans in Nea Philadelphia, from which 29-year-old Michalis Katsouris fell dead.
The defense of the specific person has been undertaken by well-known criminal law attorney Alexis Kougias, who was on Wednesday outside the courts, stressing that his client is a business owner in the area of Ampelokipi and was arrested several hours after the incident in Nea Philadelphia.
At the same time, as Mr. Kougias underlined, his client denies the accusations and points out that he has no involvement.
