Greece’s state-run natural gas supplier, DEPA Commercial, on Thursday announced the utility’s participation in the development of the first thermal power production unit in neighboring Albania, an export of the group’s activities abroad.
Specifically, DEPA Commercial will hold a 35-percent stake in Fier Thermoelectric SA’s equity capital. The latter was founded in September 2022 by ATHEX-listed multinational GEK Terna and Albania-based Gener 2 to construct and operate the natural gas-fired unit, with a capacity of 174 MW, at the Relievi Roskovec site.
DEPA Commercial signed a concession agreement to supply the power unit with natural gas.
