The newly built liquefied natural gas (LNG Carrier) ship “GasLog Wellington” was received by Peter Linanos’s GasLog. The ship has a carrying capacity of 180,000 cubic meters type XDF LNG Carrier, equipped with the latest technological achievements in propulsion.
This is the third new ship to be received from Samsung Heavy Industries out of a total of four and will be chartered to Cheniere.
GasLog controls a fleet of 35 LNG carriers, of which 17 (one under order) are privately owned and 15 are managed and owned by the subsidiary GasLog Partners, while three have been sold with sale and lease back and are managed by bareboat charter.
It is recalled that the merger of GasLog with the Global Energy & Power Infrastructure Team (GEPIF) of BlackRock, which was announced last February, has been completed. The new company, whose common stock will cease to be traded on the US stock exchange by Blenheim Holdings, a Lebanese family, and a subsidiary of the Onassis Foundation, will own about 55% of GasLog and GEPIF will retain 45%. .
The company’s preferred stock will continue to be traded on the NYSE. The affiliated company GasLog Partners, continues its autonomous activity
