Greece’s National Tourism Organization (GNTO) participated in this week’s Arabian Travel Market (ATM) convention in Dubai, along with various Greece-based businesses catering to “high-end” tourists, Aegean Airlines – the national carrier – and the association of Greek travel agencies (HATTA).
According to GNTO, the Middle East market, and especially Gulf countries, is exhibiting heightened interest in Greece as a holiday destination. \
Greece has opened a “quarantine-free” channel with the UAE, for instance.
The Arabian Travel Market is the most significant tourism exhibition in the Middle East, attracting visitors and exhibitors from the wider region and as far away as east Asia. This year’s exhibition was “hybrid”, combining virtual events and in-person participation.
