Viohalco – Nikolaos Mariou is new head of strategy and development

From September 1, 2021, Mr. Nikolaos Mariou, until today head of the steel sector, assumes the position of Head of Strategy and Development of Viohalco companies, according to a relevant announcement from the company.

Through his new role, Mr. Mariou will be responsible for planning and monitoring the business development strategy of Viohalco companies. Mr. Mariou, during his long tenure in the management of the steel sector, contributed significantly to the establishment of Sidenor as a leader in the steel market in Southeast Europe.

At the same time, Mr. Georgios Michos, with many years of experience in the industrial sector, will replace Mr. Mariou, assuming the position of CEO of the steel sector. Mr. Michos holds a degree in Electrical Engineering & Computer Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens and holds an MBA from Harvard Business School, and has more than 17 years of senior management experience at the Lafarge / Holcim Group in Greece and abroad.
