
The rector of the University, Andreas Floros, spoke about the uniqueness of the Ionian University from the OT.gr stand at the 85th Thessaloniki International Fair.
“The presence of more and more universities at the Thessaloniki International Fair marks a new era for universities that seek to listen to society in the public and private spheres and begin to meet their demands and help the advent of reality, such as digital, to give a strong present and to benefit from it,” said Mr. Floros.
The Ionian University is a regional university institution which is the second multi-island institution in the country, with a total of 12 departments at the moment are based in 4 islands and 5 cities, which is a problem and a challenge in the positive sense, he said.
According to him, this is a very strong research venue which came to be further strengthened with the establishment of the university research center of our institution, which currently has 4 institutes.
“Our goal is to help the Ionian Islands region to develop in areas beyond tourism. “It is no coincidence that together with the region we participated in a program which resulted in the creation of a film office for the Ionian Islands,” he said.
Connection of a university with the local and regional market
The Ionian University has developed in the logic of the uniqueness and singularity of the cognitive objects of its departments, this is a powerful card, according to the rector.
