
SYRIZA Progressive Alliance spokesperson, Nassos Iliopoulos, spoke at the stand of the OT at the Thessaloniki International Fair.
Mr. Iliopoulos harshly criticized the government, noting that “we have a government that has been deemed incapable of defending the interests of the citizens.”
He claimed that SYRIZA will bring changes in labor relations, while, referring to the issue of vaccinations, he argued that everyone should be vaccinated.
“Even if you get sick, you are more likely to get over it mildly,” he said, adding – criticizing the government’s handling – that we suddenly saw government leaks that everything was going well and there was a problem in the summer.
Regarding the media, he stressed that the trust of Greek citizens in the media is quite low, noting that it is a problem that we must face all together.
Speaking about the latest developments with the e-food company, he claimed that under the SYRIZA government, there will be no self-employed distributors.
The increase in electricity prices is a thorny issue
Mr. Iliopoulos referred to the thorny issue of the increase in electricity prices, emphasizing that this development can lead to an increase in prices for everything.
Commenting on the government’s initiatives to stem the problem of price increase, he said a 150m package had been announced.
“The government’s forecast is that they will absorb about 80% of the increase. Our estimate is that, in 6 to 9 months, the total cost that the Greek economy will be asked to pay, in wholesale terms, will reach 1 billion.” said Mr. Iliopoulos to add that interventions should be made in PPC’s pricing policy.
He noted that, in order to deal with the price increase, there should be an increase in the minimum wage.
