A closely watched draft bill regarding the energy sector, especially renewable sources of energy, will be unveiled at a virtual Cabinet meeting on Thursday, chaired by PM Kyriakos Mitsotakis.
The draft legislation also includes the framework for a national climate law, along with specific changes in the licensing process for renewable energy source projects, storage of electrical energy, off-shore wind parks, as well as a transformation of the state-owned but independently run Hellenic Hydrocarbon Resources Management S.A. (HHRM S.A.) authority, which, among others, manages oil and gas exploration and production concessions.
Other draft bills to be unveiled for discussion and observations include legislation by the social insurances ministry on modernizing an online registry for social security, as well as a health ministry bill on monitoring pharmaceutical expenditures paid by public funds and bodies.
