A provision for the mandatory wearing of face masks in public outdoor spaces will expire on Saturday, the government announced on Wednesday, accepting a recommendation by a “blue chip” committee of health experts and epidemiologists.
Committee members, however, advised that it is highly recommend that people continue to use face masks in crowded public spaces, and by people in high-risk groups, including those who are not vaccinated.
Additionally, mass transits will return to a full pre-pandemic passenger capacity.
