Passenger traffic for the port of Heraklion has increased compared to 2020, but decreased compared to 2019, according to published June statistics.
“The year is catching up with 2019. If you look at the data for June, you will see that compared to 2019, there are fewer routes and passengers. Now we have 122,000 passengers through 193 voyages, while in June 2019 we had 173,000 passengers through 348 voyages,” said Heraklion port master Efthymis Doubis, speaking to cretapost.
At the same time, Mr. Douvis mentioned that June 2022 has twice the traffic of June 2020. “This is more than double the traffic. Last year, of course, we had stricter measures for the coronavirus, something that does not exist this year,” he said.
