On Saturday, January 14, 2023, the opening ceremony for the implementation of the Alexandroupolis Power Plant in the city of the same name will take place, by the three energy groups: PPC, DEPA Commercial and Damco Energy of the Kopelouzos Group.
Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis will welcome the event.
The event will give the starting signal for the start of the construction works of the “Alexandroupolis Power Generation” unit, with the representatives of the three energy groups participating in the Unit present: the President and CEO of PPC, Mr. Georgios Stassis, the President and CEO of DEPA Commercial Mr. Ioannis Papadopoulos and Konstantinos Xifaras and the Managing Director of the Kopelouzos Group, Mr. Christos Kopelouzo.
As is known, recently the 3 Groups reached an agreement on the share structure of the “Alexandroupolis Power Generation” unit, for the construction and operation of a new natural gas-fueled electricity production unit in Alexandroupolis.
The construction of the new plant, which is expected to start in the first quarter of 2023 and be ready at the end of 2025, will be another tool of Greece in the effort for pluralism in the energy mix and the achievement of the objectives of the European Green Deal, the announcement points out. .
