HPPC is leasing leases to the Municipality of Athens a part of the surrounding area of the Goudi Olympic Center as well as the central competition arena, a gross field area of approximately 8,500 square meters.
As mentioned in a related announcement by the Municipality of Athens, the football arena in Goudi has an 840-seat stand and lighting stands, while the sports facilities acquired by the Municipality also include a 5×5 mini-football field.
The use of the two fields, it is expected to give a significant “breather” to the athletes and sports lovers, and will decongest the remaining facilities available to the Municipality, offering both the teams and the citizens of Athens the opportunity to enjoy more hours for quality sports and games in safe areas.
“We continue to invest in sports”
Athens Mayor Costas Bakoyiannis in his statement, immediately after signing the contract, emphasized: “The new generation and the sports clubs of our city are a living, dynamic part of society that is “thirsty” for modern and attractive sports venues. We are happy, because step by step, with planning and persistence, we are upgrading the existing infrastructure on the one hand, and on the other we are increasing the list of football fields that the Athenians need. We continue to invest in sports and the cooperation with ETAD for the utilization of the Olympic Center in Goudi proves once again our strong intention to cooperate with all agencies, in order to make use of unused spaces, for the benefit of the Athenians”.
With the addition of the new football field to the “catalogue” of the sports facilities of the Municipality of Athens, more than ten clubs competing in the city’s local league will have the opportunity to use a new sports field, which with the promoted interventions of the technical services of municipality will be further upgraded and will develop into a modern and safe sports center.
