The employment balance in Greece over the Jan-Apr 2023 period recorded the second-best performance since far-off April 2001, according results unveiled on Tuesday by a survey from a labor ministry platform.
Specifically, new hirings totaled more than 929,000 over the four-month period, whereas firings/retirements/resignations were just more than 748,000 – a positive balance of 180,566 job positions, the highest since 2001.
In April 2023, new hirings totaled 309,324, compared to 186,245 losses, leaving a positive balance of 123,079 job spots, the second-best performance since 2001.
The sectors with the best employment balance were hospitality, retail commerce, public administration and travel agencies.
