
Greek unemployment fell to 9.6% in November 2024, according to data released by the Hellenic Statistical Authority (ELSTAT). This represents a decrease from 10.8% in November 2023 and slightly below the 9.8% recorded in October 2024.
The number of employed individuals reached 4,286,466, marking an increase of 146,066 people (3.5%) compared to November 2023, but showing a minor decrease of 6,074 people (-0.1%) from October 2024.
The number of unemployed individuals totaled 454,695, which is a reduction of 47,562 people (-9.5%) from November 2023 and 11,914 fewer (-2.6%) than in October 2024.
The number of individuals under 75 years not included in the labor force, or “persons outside the labor force,” who neither work nor seek employment, stood at 3,026,005. This group decreased by 120,944 people (-3.8%) from November 2023 but increased by 15,817 people (0.5%) from October 2024.
According to the methodology applied in the Labor Force Survey Greek unemployment, the quality and representativeness of its results are maintained in alignment with the sampling design by updating monthly data to incorporate new units. This process is undertaken as soon as the corresponding data for the entire quarter are finalized, ensuring 100% sample coverage.
The sample of households and individuals included in the Labor Force Survey is currently undergoing recalibration based on the final detailed data from the 2021 Population Census, further enhancing the reliability and precision of the survey outcomes.
