
Retail trade turnover increased 11.7% in June, according to ELSTAT data.
In particular, the General Turnover Index in June 2021, compared to the corresponding index of June 2020, increased by 11.7% and compared to the corresponding index of May 2021 increased by 7.1%.
At the same time, the General Volume Index (turnover at constant prices), during the month of June 2021, compared to the corresponding index of June 2020, showed an increase of 10.8% and compared to the corresponding index of May 2021 an increase of 4.8 %.
The seasonally adjusted General Turnover Index, during the month of June 2021, compared to the corresponding index of May 2021 showed a decrease of 0.6%.
The seasonally adjusted General Volume Index, in June 2021, compared to the corresponding index of May 2021, showed a decrease of 1.4%.
Products
The increase of the Turnover Index by 11.7% in June 2021, compared to the corresponding index of June 2020, came mainly from the changes in the following categories:
-Car fuel and lubricants 23.3%
-Pharmaceuticals – Cosmetics 18.4%
-Clothing – Shoes 13.8%
-Books – Stationery – Other items 10.4%
-Large food stores 7.4%
The increase of the Volume Index by 10.8% in June 2021, compared to the corresponding index of June 2020, came mainly from the changes in the following categories:
-Pharmaceuticals – Cosmetics 24.1%
-Clothing – Shoes 13.4%
-Books – Stationery – Other items 11.4%
-Large food stores 7.2%
-Car fuel and lubricants 6.8%
