
The historically high level of Greek-American relations was underlined by President Joe Biden during his meeting with Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis at the White House.
According to the announcement of the White House, President Biden congratulated the Prime Minister for the 201 years of Greek independence, with both sides emphasizing that the relationship between the United States and Greece is stronger than ever. In fact, as they underlined, the lasting ties between the societies of the two countries have defined the bilateral ties for more than two centuries.
They talked about Ukraine
The full range of bilateral co-operation was on the agenda during the meeting, as the two leaders discussed strong and growing defense co-operation, common democratic values and a commitment to further expanding bilateral trade and investment. In addition, they discussed developments in Ukraine, including strong support for Russia’s costly efforts for its unprovoked aggression, and pledged to continue supporting the people and government of Ukraine.
Finally, President Biden discussed with Kyriakos Mitsotakis developments in the Eastern Mediterranean, as well as joint efforts to address global challenges, such as energy security, climate change and threats to democracy.
