
The Deputy Minister of Tourism, Sofia Zacharaki and the Secretary General of Tourism Policy and Development, Olympia Anastassopoulou participated at a working lunch with representatives of five major travel agencies of South Korea in the context of a familiarization trip organized by the International Initiative “Restart of the Greek Economy” of AHEPA Achaia in collaboration with the Attica Region, the Hellenic Tourism Organization and the Embassy of Greece.
The lunch was also attended by the Ambassador of South Korea to Greece Jung II Lee, the Chairman of the Committee “Restart of the Greek Economy” Dimitris Moutousis, the Director of Communication and Marketing of Athens International Airport SA. Ioanna Papadopoulou, as well as the Director of Foreign Offices of EOT Michalis Michailidis.
The familiarization trip was attended by representatives of three leading travel groups in the Korean market with high activity in Europe (Lotte Tour, Hana Tour and Hanjin Tour), as well as two emerging strong online travel platforms, offering more than 23,000 products for travel abroad to more than 800 cities worldwide (My Real Trip and Yellow Balloon).
Particular emphasis was placed on exploring ways to further enhance Korea’s cooperation with our country in various forms of tourism. An important development is the resumption of direct charter flights Seoul-Athens from September, while during the discussion the representatives of the political leadership of the Ministry focused on the importance of starting scheduled direct flights throughout the year.
