
Corfu is turning out to be a shining example for the Greek tourism industry having become one of the most preferred destinations for holidays in Greece for foreigners, as well as Greeks.
Civil Aviation Authority notes that more than 300,000 tourists from abroad landed at Ioannis Kapodistrias airport during June alone, while the number of flights is expected to increase during July.

Over 1,800 international flights in June
In particular, 1,827 foreign flights were recorded in June, of which 600 were from Great Britain, 341 from Germany, 178 from Italy, 134 from Poland, 92 from France, while it is noteworthy that after three years flights also arrived from the Sccandinavian countries, Sweden, Finland and Norway. At the same time, many airlines have extended itineraries to the island until the first ten days of November.
Hotels 80%-90% full
At the same time, the President of Corfu Hoteliers, Babis Voulgaris, is also completely satisfied with the tourist traffic, as he states that “June closed with 70%-90% occupancy in the hotels, while July also reaches, according to the reservations, 80% – 90%occupancy for the big hotels. The messages are very positive.”
Besides, for the month of June, according to the Corfu Port Authority, 67 cruise ships arrived at the island for one-day holidays, while in July 72 cruise ships are expected to dock.
The number of passengers arriving in Corfu by ferry has also increased, with Greeks continuing to show a particular preference for the island.
