
The new tourist investment planned by Elivi Hotels SA, in Skiathos, amounts to 64.5 million euros, with the aim of being an attractive luxury destination for the island, Greece, but also the Mediterranean.
Elivi Hotels A.E. already operates the Elivi Skiathos hotel complex above the famous Koukounaries beach, and aims to create an additional complex close to the existing capacity of 267 rooms – 534 beds, for which the public consultation in Enterprise Greece has already been completed.
The project, which is expected to be included in fast track investments soon, will be financed with 60% equity, while the rest will be covered by bank lending. The shareholder company of Elivi Hotels A.E., TENA ATEVE, intends to finance the investment project with future capital increases in which it will participate.
Based on the existing design, the full implementation of the investment is expected to take about four years.
As highlighted by company circles, the new investment is expected to lead to a significant increase in local employment, while, taking into account both the costs during the construction period and the costs during operation as well as the direct public revenue, the investment can create throughout the supply chain, public revenues amounted to 152 million euros and a total added value for the Greek economy of up to 268 million euros within 20 years.
Elivi Hotels A.E. already exploits the historic “Xenia” of Skiathos, which reopened after a radical reconstruction in 2018 as a new five-star hotel complex Elivi Skiathos, with a total capacity of 161 rooms, located on the famous beach Koukounaries and extends to the surrounding area. The hotel complex also joins the beach Ambelakia located in front of Elivi Skiathos.
This hotel is already recording an impressive course despite the problems in world tourism due to the pandemic, last year and this year .
As Ms. Lena Velissaridou, commercial director of Elivi Skiathos, stated to ot.gr, regarding the course of the season so far and hotel reservations, “we are pleased to note that every season Elivi Skiathos becomes more and more beloved by the public. This year is a very good year for us, as we note particularly high occupancy reaching the numbers of 2019, with the forecasts for the next two months being quite encouraging. In fact, the UK market gap seems to have been filled by other inbound markets so far, mainly from Northern and Central Europe.
Wishing to contribute even more to the promotion of Skiathos, the shareholder company TENA ATEBE, of the Nathanailidis family, plans “the new hotel facilities to be a reference point in the modern personalized luxury accommodation, to stand out from the competition, while ensuring high returns funds.”
