
Producer prices for extra virgin olive oil in Greece remain steadily high. They are increasing in Spain as well, while declining in Italy.
In particular, according to the data of the International Olive Council (IOC), producer prices in Greece from 18 to 24 April 2022 were 3.25 euros / kg, an increase of 12.1% compared to the corresponding period of the previous crop year .
During the same period, producer prices in Spain were 3.44 euros / kg, recording an increase of 12.8% compared to the same period of the previous crop year.
In Italy, producer prices were 4.30 euros / kg, down 7.5% from the same period last year.
World olive oil trade
According to the same data, imports to Japan increased by 11% and to China by 8%.
However, imports are down 14% in Australia, 24% in Brazil, 40% in Canada, 22% in Russia and 11% in the US compared to the same period last year.
In the first four months of the 2021/22 crop year, intra-EU trade fell by 1% and non-EU imports fell by 6% compared to the same period of the previous crop year.
