The railway workers are continuing their strike mobilizations after the tragedy in Tempi that has claimed the lives of 57 people.

A new 24-hour strike has been announced by the Hellenic Train workers’ unions. More specifically, the unions that are going on strike are the TRAINOSE Staff Union, the Panhellenic Staff Union and the Panhellenic Traction Staff Union.

The workers with announcements have thanked the tens of thousands who have taken part in the mobilizations of the last few days for the “crime” in Tempi, as they characterize the tragedy, due to the many warnings from their side.

Costas Genidounias, president of the train drivers, wrote characteristically after yesterday’s huge gathering at Syntagma: “We thank the dozens of primary unions, the Piraeus Labor Center for their support, the thousands of our fellow citizens for their presence today. Let’s keep our commitment. We don’t forget and we won’t let anything be forgotten.”
