Total of 41 wildfires erupt in Greece over past 24 hours; none evolve into major blazes

A total of 41 wildfires were reported throughout Greece over the past 24 hours, the majority of whom were extinguished on the spot, according to an announcement by the fire brigade.

According to the civil protection ministry, at least four regions in the country are in a high-risk category on Thursday for wildfire eruption.

Authorities and volunteers in the specific region are also on high alert
