The need to support the business world, but also the promotion of the necessary reforms needed by the Greek economy, is what the business world is asking of the new government, a few hours after New Democracys comfortable victory in the June 25th parliamentary elections.
Next day’s challenges for the new financial staff
In particular, the president of the Piraeus Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Vassilis Korkidis, stated that “it is time to achieve economic and social progress through common actions with basic objectives, to eliminate obstacles in the market, to improve pay and working conditions. It is time for decent pensions, better living and quality of life for citizens. It is time to strengthen the economy and ensure harmonious growth by further improving the investment climate by removing red tape and other procedures that have in the past held back productive investment. It is time for the new government to prioritize young people and small and medium-sized businesses. It is time for the new government to move forward, having the strong mandate of the people to lead the country to overall upgrading and development. It is time to understand that the government of our country, regardless of party and color, is the government of all Greeks. It’s time for our Greece!”
S. Kafounis: Brave reforms immediately!
Commenting on the election results, the president of the Athens Chamber of Commerce said: “The election result sends a clear message for bold reforms immediately, to make up for the lost decade.
Bold reforms that will allow entrepreneurship to grow, so that with many new well-paid jobs for young children, it will strengthen social cohesion and be a pole of attraction for Greeks who have left the country, but also for foreigners who want to invest . The commercial world of the country does not give a single minute of tolerance and with serious intervention proposals will claim that the strongest sector of the Greek economy needs it”.
G. Hatzitheodosiou: Not a day wasted
The president of the Professional Chamber of Athens Giorgos Hatzitheodosiou expressed satisfaction with the election result that ensures the country a government and a return to normalcy after a long pre-election period and two electoral contests.
Pointing out that every action of the government, initiative or reform, reflects on the country, he wishes success to the new government, pointing out that “at this moment we absolutely need a new course with a sign of development, after many years of recession, challenges, adverse conditions in the operation of market”.
“This means that not a single day should be lost in trying to deal with problems such as punctuality, accumulated debts, lack of liquidity in the market. As of today, the new government has the heavy responsibility to look for the best possible solutions in order to support society, businesses, develop the economy and proceed with necessary reforms for the better functioning of the state”, emphasizes the president of the Athens Chamber.
He commits, finally, that “bodies that support entrepreneurship, such as the country’s Chambers of Commerce, will continue to cooperate with the new financial staff, thus fulfilling the duty imposed on us by our institutional role as advisers to the State”.
