The Athens Stock Exchange (ATHEX) closed on a bullish note on Friday, with the general index remaining above the 900-point threshold, boosted by interest in energy shares.
The general index closed with very modest gains of 0.50 percent, standing at 906.57 points, and with turnover a feeble 51.5 million euros.
The trend for the past week echoed much of the trading for the month of October, namely, small but solidly upwards steps, while “corrections” were mild.
Overall, ATHEX posted gains of 4.25 percent on the general index throughout the month so far, with the FTSE 25 index mostly following the “big board”.
The modest gains of October have almost overcome losses in September 2021, which saw overall losses of 6.3 percent.
