Royal Caribbean Group executives on Thursday briefed Greece’s relevant tourism minister that the company will recommence winter cruises in Greek waters and destinations next February.

The company will also use Piraeus as a home port for a cruise of up to 2,200 holiday-makers, and with stops on Cyprus, Israel and Egypt.

The announcement came during a meeting between Royal Caribbean’s executives with Greek Minister Vassilis Kikilias, where the former also praised the fact that direct flights linking the United States to Greece have multiplied, given that 60 percent of the passengers on the specific cruise are projected to be American citizens.
