Authorities proceeded with two arrests of suspects for the fires in Kryoneri and Fokida.
More specifically, as ERT television broadcast, a young man was brought in for the fire in Kryoneri. Authorities are trying to determine if he was actually at the front to help put out the blaze, as he claimed when he was apprehended. He has been taken to the central Security of Attica.
For the fire in Fokida, the police authorities have brought in a person, who according to the available information was carrying out work in the area.
At the same time, an Attica Security squad has gone to Pyrgos to step up efforts to locate a person connected to the fire front of Ilia.
According to ERT information from police sources, the pilot of a firefighting helicopter spotted a person moving suspiciously at the beginning of the fires in the area, something that is also confirmed by witnesses. In fact, the authorities believe that many fires started along the road where the suspect was moving.
