Revenue of $ 236.617 million last year and net profit of $ 85.7 million for the first quarter of 2022 were recorded by Navios Maritime Partners L.P., which last year absorbed Navios Acquisition and Navios Containers. Navios Partners also announced that the total revenue it has contracted with charters of its ships amounts to $2.8 billion by 2031.
Angeliki Frangou, President and CEO of Navios Partners said: “I am pleased with the results for the first quarter of 2022. In the first quarter of 2022, Navios Partners recorded revenue of $ 236.6 million, EBITDA of $ 126.1 million and net income of $ 85.7 million, or $ 2.78 earnings per unit. ”
Angeliki Frangou continued, “We are at the crossroads of a war in Ukraine, rising interest rates and a zero-Covid policy in China. There is no crystal ball to understand how this will evolve. In the meantime, governments and companies are moving fast to meet their short-term needs, and they are looking at long-term policies in light of these uncertainties.”
Angeliki Frangou also stated, “We believe that the diversified structure of our fleet offers the opportunity for continuous development. As previously announced, this quarter we agreed to acquire four Aframax / LR2 tankers chartered by another contractor. These ships are designed with the latest technology and can carry either crude oil or petroleum products. “Through this transaction, we have entered a new subsection with reduced risk and excellent long-term prospects.”
Agreements
It is noted that in April 2022, Navios Partners agreed to purchase four newly built Aframax / LR2 vessels with a capacity of 115,000 dwt each, for $ 58.5 million each (plus $ 4.2 million in additional features). The boats are designed with the latest technology to optimize performance. They are expected to be delivered to the Navios Partners fleet in 2024 and the first quarter of 2025. The four ships are linked to long-term charters that are expected to generate approximately $ 185 million in revenue.
In total, Navios Partners has contracted revenues of $2.8 billion from all its ship charters by 2031.
Navios Partners controls and operates a fleet of 150 vessels, of which 54 are bulk cargo vessels, 47 are container vessels and 49 are tanker vessels.
