A “digital transformation” of Greece’s all-important tourism industry can be achieved through the implementation of a strategic “road map” that includes application of five primary axes, according to conclusions in a study unveiled by the sector research body INSETE and Accenture.
The five main axes cited in the study include the creation of a “data hub”, establishing a digital “identity”, developing “smart” destinations and businesses, and further boosting digital skills.
The study emphasized that this “digital transformation” – one of the more popular catch-phrases uttered repeatedly by the pro-market government and chamber officials for post-pandemic Greece – will be facilitated through the use of AI, bio-metrics, blockchain, the cloud, the Internet of Things, data analytics, Augmented reality (AR) and others.
