The inflation rate in Greece topped off at 2.8 percent, on an annual basis, in June 2023, on the “lower end” among Eurozone member-states, according to the Union’s statistics authority, Eurostat.
The inflation rate in the Eurozone, as a whole, eased to 5.5 percent, compared to 8.6 percent in the same month of 2022, and down by 0.6 percentage points from the preceding month, May 2023, when the figure was 6.1 percent.
The figure for the European Union was 6.4 percent in June, compared to 7.1 percent for May 2023.
The lowest rates, on a monthly basis, were recorded in Luxembourg (1.0 percent), Belgium and Spain (both at 1.6 percent). The highest inflation rates were recorded in non-Euro member Hungary, Slovakia and non-Euro member Czech Republic, at 19.9, 11.3 and 11.2 percent, respectively.
