Mytilineos is rolling up its sleeves to develop the large 1.5 GW photovoltaic portfolio acquired earlier this year by the Egnatia Group.
According to information, the beginning will be the 140 MW projects that were locked in by the listed company through the last tender of Energy Regulatory Authority and which range in price from 32.97 euros per MW (the lowest price ever in a RES tender) up to 39 , 99 euros per MW. These are projects which, according to the results of the RAE tender, are located in Evros, Halkidiki, Veria, Serres, Karditsa, and Larissa.
According to the same information, the RES Development and Energy Storage Department of Mytilineos plans to start construction work at the beginning of the third quarter of the year. That is, maybe in July as well. The projects are expected to be put into operation gradually by the end of 2022.
It is noted that the Electricity and Natural Gas / Protergia Sector of the listed company already operates 211 MW RES with the majority of them being wind farms.
The gradual growth of the 1.5 GW portfolio acquired by Egnatia Group essentially marks Mytilineos’ large entry into RES. The construction of the projects and the production of electricity from photovoltaics will lead the listed company to the realization of its goals for the reduction of carbon dioxide emissions by 30% by 2030.
