Fuel prices have slumped in Greece – to the delight of consumers – over the past 20 days on the back of decreases in the price of crude oil and its derivatives on international markets.

Based on data collected from petrol stations around Greece, the price of heating oil is now close to dropping below 1 euro per liter, while unleaded gasoline is now selling below two euros per liter, after several months.

Data shows that between Nov. 8 and Nov. 29, the average price for unleaded gasoline is down by 11 cents per liter, with the average retail price reaching 1.989 euros per liter.

The lowest price for unleaded gasoline has been reported at a several independent gas stations in the greater Athens area, priced at 1.78 euros per liter.
