The Hellenic Statistical Authority (ELSTAT) said private building permits rose 7.2% in December of 2023, compared to the same period the previous year, amounting to 26,698 building permits.
The ELSTAT building activity survey covers all private building activity in Greece and offers data on permits, types of construction, type and characteristics of the building and its auxiliary spaces, and building usage, surface, volume and data.
The total surface of building activity, calculated in square meters, also posted 11.9% growth when compared to December of 2022, amounting to 6,088.5 square meters of surface.
And finally, building volumes continued to grow, coming in 15.9% higher than December 2o22 and reaching 28,456.8 square meters.
