Employment up in Greece in H1 period; 267K more jobs reported

Employment increased in June 2022, as well as over the first half of the year, data from a Greek labor ministry platform tracking hirings and firings revealed on Friday.

Specifically, new hirings totaled 329,966 in June, while layoffs/retirements/resignations/dismissals totaled 310,853, a positive balance of more than 19,000 job spots for the month.

Over the six-month period from January to June 2022, new hirings reached 1,445,560, while layoffs/retirements/resignations/dismissals totaled 1,178,368 – translating into 267,193 more job spots
