In 2022, private sector employees will continue to see their monthly salaries increase due to the suspension of the special solidarity contribution and the extension of the cut in insurance contributions, businesses will be taxed at a reduced tax rate, the self-employed and those earning income from real estate will be burdened with less tax when clearing their new tax return, taxpayers with small and medium real estate will see the ENFIA property tax account becoming lighter than the jump in the fair values ​​of real estate, while those who use plastic money in everyday transactions will earn a tax deduction of up to 2,200 euros if they ask for and receive receipts from specific business sectors.

At the same time, the tax lottery is changing and will distribute bigger cash prizes that will reach up to 50,000 euros per month, while at Christmas there will be a jackpot and the lucky taxpayers will win up to 100,000 euros. Also, about 700,000 companies and self-employed people who were supported through the seven cycles of the repayable advance take a breather until the end of June as the start of repayment of the state aid amounts is “frozen” for six months.

Transfers, parental benefits and donations have now passed into the digital age and until the summer the inheritance declarations will be submitted electronically while changes are planned by the Ministry of Finance and AADE in the chronology of payment of ENFIA and the income tax.

Ο.Τ. presents the changes in the tax landscape that are coming in the new year:

1. “Abolition” of the solidarity contribution – maintaining the reduction of insurance contributions by 3 points for the private sector

The annual salary gain for employees ranges from 108 to 540 euros from the maintenance of reduced contributions and from 49 to 2,771 euros from the solidarity contribution (depending on the amount of earnings). For example, an employee with a gross salary of 1,000 euros (847 net) has an annual benefit of 132 euros from the reduction of insurance contributions. An employee with a gross salary of 1,200 euros (1,016 net) has an annual benefit of 207 euros (158 euros from the reduction of insurance contributions and 49 euros from the solidarity contribution. the reduction of insurance contributions and 461 euros from the solidarity contribution.

2. New objective values

On New Year’s Eve, the new objective values ​​of real estate are activated throughout the country. In more than 7,000 areas prices are going uphill dragging up taxes and fees. Until January 31, 2022, taxpayers will be able to sign contracts for the purchase and sale, parental benefits and donations of real estate with the old objective values, provided that the relevant declarations have been submitted to the Tax Office. until 31 December 2021.

3. New ENFIA

The “revelations” of the new real estate tax are expected at the end of January and at the end of March the new account of ENFIA will reach over 6.3 million property owners. Payment will be made in 10 or 12 monthly installments. The Ministry of Finance is planning an ENFIA calculation scale in which the additional tax has been incorporated, which will ensure a reduction, even a small one, for property owners located in areas where the zone price will increase from January 1, 2022. The political commitment of the government is in 2022 the majority of owners to pay less ENFIA. Those who are expected to pay more tax next year compared to this year are the owners of a property in an area where there is a very large increase in the price of the zone. The losers of 2022 will be mainly the property owners in the zones that entered the objective system for the first time, as the price increases reach up to 250%.

4. Extra tax deduction with e-receipts

From January 2022 until 2025, 30% of the expenses incurred by taxpayers with electronic means of payment to specific professional sectors and up to the amount of 5,000 euros per year, are deducted from the taxable income of individuals. The list of professions includes architects, lawyers, funeral homes, personal care and nursing services, cleaning services and maintenance, childcare, limousines and taxis, laundries, yacht rental services, consulting services, photographers, as well as gyms and dance schools. With the new regulation, the tax reduction will reach up to 450 euros for taxpayers with an annual income of up to 10,000 euros, up to 1,100 euros for an annual income of 10,000 to 20,000 euros, up to 1,400 euros for income from 20,000 to 30,000 euros, up to 1,800 euros for income from 30,000 to 40,000 euros and up to 2,200 euros if the annual income exceeds 40,000 euros.

Medical expenses
At the same time, the annual expenses of each natural person for visits to doctors, dentists, orthodontists and veterinarians, as well as for examinations in private diagnostic centers and for other medical services, except for the purchase of medicines and hospitalization, will count twice (100 euros) will count for 200 euros) to cover 30% of the annual real income with electronic expenses.

5. New tax lottery

The new tax lottery is expected to premiere in January and will distribute up to 50,000 euros per month to the lucky taxpayers, while at Christmas there will be a super draw with a prize of 100,000 euros. According to the changes promoted, every month 500 lucky people will win from 1,000 euros, 70 from 5,000 euros, 5 from 20,000 euros and a super lucky taxpayer will win 50,000 euros.

6. Businesses

Business profits will be taxed at a “cut” tax rate which has been set at 22% from 24%. The reduction of the tax advance for legal entities and legal entities to 80% also applies.

7. VAT rates

Reduced VAT rates on tourism, transport, coffee, soft drinks and movie tickets have been extended until June 2022. Also, by the end of June, the VAT rate will be reduced from 24% to 13% in gyms, swimming pools and dance schools that are not exempt from VAT. A permanent measure is the transfer of the VAT rate for animal feed to the reduced VAT rate of 6%.

8. Mobile telephony

The mobile subscriber fee and the prepaid fee are reduced to 10%, from 12% to 20% that was until now depending on the amount of the monthly bill, and is abolished for young people up to 29 years old.

9. Pay TV

The suspension of the pay-TV fee, which represents 10% of the total bill, is extended until June 2022.

10. “Green” costs

Expenditures related to the promotion of the green economy, energy and digitization will be deducted from the gross income of small and medium-sized enterprises, increased by up to 100%.

11. Trespassed areas

At the beginning of 2022, the bill of the Ministry of Finance is expected to be submitted to the Parliament, which will give the right to those who have encroached on public lands to buy them from the state for a price calculated based on the objective values ​​of real estate with a discount rate and will be scaled according to the duration of the encroachment and the type of property.

12. Incentives for mergers and acquisitions

Through partnerships, sole proprietorships can create a new legal entity of a higher form, in order to be subject to the taxation of legal entities on favorable terms. For companies-legal entities that merge into a new legal entity or that are merged by absorption by an existing legal entity, creating significant economies of scale, a 30% discount will be provided on the amount of tax due for three years. Acquisitions and mergers are one of the five eligibility criteria for access to Recovery Fund loans at a very low interest rate.
