An explosion took place, on Friday afternoon, in a butcher-mini market in the center of Athens and specifically at the junction of Alkiviadou and Ioulianou streets, in Victoria Square.

An ambulance, fire trucks and police forces rushed to the scene.

According to the first information, one person was injured.

The injured, who has burns, was received by EKAB ambulances.

Alarm for possible gas leakage

There are three firefighters with one vehicle at the scene, however no fire has broken out.

According to the Fire Department, water company EYDAP, PPC, and gas distributor DEPA have been notified of a possible gas leak.
