Western Samos was selected from 170 Municipalities from 75 countries to join the Upgrade Program of the network of Best Tourism Villages (BTV). This distinction comes just a few days after the success of the selection of Soufli as one of the new members of the network.
The Deputy Minister of Tourism, Sofia Zacharaki, stated in this regard:
“Following the efforts and synergies of the Ministry of Tourism with the local Municipalities, Western Samos is part of the Upgrade Program of the Best Tourism Villages.
This new success comes to complement the inclusion of Soufli in the Best Tourism Villages network of the World Tourism Organization, which took place on December 2, opening new opportunities for the upgrading of agritourism and outdoor tourism for two remote areas of our country.
It is another step in our continuous effort to spread tourism development throughout the region, in a balanced and sustainable way.
And it sends the message of the enormous potential of the special forms of tourism of our country, as we close an extremely successful tourist year, preparing for an even more dynamic one “.
