An official visit by Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis to Moscow and a meeting at the Kremlin with Russian leader Vladimir Putin has reportedly been finalized, with reports in Athens on Friday evening pointing to the first half of December as the mostly likely period.

One date repeatedly cited, in fact, is Dec. 8.

The same reports state that Mitsotakis will also have talks with other top Russian leaders, including PM Mikhail Mishustin, who was in Athens last March for Greek Independence Day celebrations.

At the time, in greeting Mishustin, the Greek premier underlined that although Greece is a NATO member it nevertheless looks to Russia’s adherence to the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS) in the eastern Mediterranean and its standing support regarding at Cyprus solution.
